What to Expect: Tekkers Lesson
Our Lessons are offered in 1-on-1, small group (2-3 players), and group environments. Each lesson is tailored to help work on individual needs. Our goal is to minimize deficiency and help create a more confident, skilled player. In each session, you can expect to be pushed tactically and technically to build the necessary habits to play at a higher level.
Based on the group or individual's skillset, age, and position we will make the necessary adjustments to maximize their ability to learn the correct technique and apply it in real game scenarios not just in a training environment.
Every lesson at Tekkers has a similar structure, but no lesson will ever be the exact same. Every player, whether it be in a group or as a private lesson, will be slightly different from the next player. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the game of soccer. We understand that as a training staff and will make sure everything you work on as a player is tailored to your own traits.
Each lesson will always start with 5-10 minutes of juggling. It might be a challenge, juggling with a bounce, or playing a game with your coach. You might be asking why to start with juggling you are never going to run down the field while juggling. While yes that might be true, think of all the times the ball is in the air, Your ability to consistently trap a ball out of the more time you will have to complete the next action.
After juggling we will get right to the point of emphasis. Our lessons are technique and positionally driven, depending on your position and skillset, the coaches will have a main point of emphasis, things such as curling the ball, a more consistent first touch, becoming confident with tour weak foot, or playing under pressure, the list can go on and on but those isolated moments that happen in games are what we work on. During the time we are teaching the main point is a player's space to ask questions, and get comfortable with the concept. After we get the concept down we then will make sure we get plenty of reps. The best way to learn something new is by continually doing it, and getting a feel for the correct technique rather than just talking about it.
Some sessions might have multiple points of emphasis and others might just have one. All of that is dependent on the size of the group and the ability to grasp a concept.
After we knock out plenty of repetition we like to end the day with a little bit of fun at Tekkers for the last few minutes. It could be a crossbar challenge or a simple competition to get the competitive juices flowing before you take off.
We see our lessons at Tekkers Soccer as a supplement to what the clubs in the area already offer. Our lessons give players an opportunity to work on specific moments that they can take back to a training environment become comfortable with and ultimately put these new concepts, techniques, and skills into game action.
